The actual recordings, however, remained commercially unavailable until , when Columbia Records released a scant 16 of them on The Basement Tapes album (that album also included eight new songs by The Band, without Dylan). A critical and popular success, The Basement Tapes went Top 10 /5().

Yea! Heavy and a Bottle of Bread (Take 2) (Bob Dylan) For the first time, The Basement Tapes: Complete presents the entire 5 minute plus excursion to New Orleans. Obviously a song created on the fly, Dylan piles up various blues tropes to match the slow drag New Orleans funeral dirge. Yea! Heavy and a Bottle of Bread (Take 2) I.

I still can't believe we are getting a new Pink Floyd album in October, and the complete Basement Tapes in November. My other observation is, I don't see how the 2 disc version is even a consideration; the savvy fan needs all 6 discs since these sessions are some of Bob's best work ever.
